Carnitas Seasoning

Elevate your pork carnitas recipe by using a homemade carnitas seasoning, infused with a classic blend of herbs and spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1-1½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp dried Mexican oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp white or black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Store in an air tight container for up to 6 months. (*Note 2)

Notes

Note 1 - To use as a carnitas marinade, combine 2 tablespoons of seasoning, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, lime juice from one lime and the juice from one orange. 
 
Note 2 - One batch covers 1.5-2 lbs of pork.
