Ingredients
1cupDiced Onions, Red or White*Note 1
1-2tbspDiced Serrano Peppers or Jalapeno*Note 2
1Fresh Key Lime, Juiced*Note 3
¼-½tspSalt*Note 4
3-4Tomatoes, Diced
⅓cupChopped Cilantro
Instructions
Dice the onions and jalapeños, add to a large mixing bowl and toss with the lime juice and salt. Set aside.
Dice the tomatoes and cilantro and add to the onion mix. Stir to combine.
Transfer to the refrigerator and let chill for a an hour before serving.
Notes
Note 1 - White onions are traditional.Note 2 - Use Serrano peppers or 2 tbsp of Jalapeños if you like things spicy!Note 3 - Key limes are traditionally used in Mexico. If you only have access to a regular lime, only use the juice from 1/2 the lime.Note 4 - Make sure to consider what you're using the salsa on. Chips are usually pretty salty, so you don't need to add as much.
