2ozhigh quality tequila
1ozorange liqueur
1ozfresh lime juiceapprox. 1-2 small limes
lime wedges and saltoptional garnish

OPTIONAL RIM: Place 2 tbsp of sugar on a small plate and mix in lime zest, if desired. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into the sugar to coat. Set aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice. Shake until chilled - about 30 seconds.
Fill a cocktail or margarita glass with ice. Strain the drink into glass and garnish with lime wedges.
