BBQ Rub

Nothing beats grubbing down on BBQ that’s been rubbed down with an array of seasonings and slathered in homemade barbecue sauce. Whip up a huge batch of our easy barbecue rub and keep it on hand, in an airtight jar, to use as needed.

How To Make A BBQ Dry Rub

Making your own custom BBQ Rub couldn’t be easier. Just make the basic BBQ dry rub, taste, and adjust to suite your preference. Our basic rub includes: brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, salt, mustard powder and cayenne pepper.

Individual spices needed to make BBQ Rub all spaced out in a white bowl next to a white cloth napkin.

RECIPE VARIATIONS:

Spicy – amp up the heat by doubling, or even tripling the cayenne! Throw in a few shakes of red pepper flakes for good measure. You can do the same with our Chicken Taco Seasoning.

Want A Hint of Smoke? Add in 1 Tablespoon of Smoked Paprika.

Like Garlic? This dry rub recipe can certainly handle a double hit of garlic powder. Go for it!

Prefer Less Sugar? We get it. Half it and take a test. The other flavors should shine with the reduction in sugar.
